Parupalli kashyap born in ‘Guntur’ to ‘Uday Shankar’ and ‘ Subhadra’. He was only 11 when he was enroll in a traning camp conducted by Dronacharya awardee ‘SM Arif’. From there on, there was no looking back for kashyap. As a youngster badminton was just a recreational sport for him untill he realised about his tallent. After moving to Bengaluru he started his training at the Prakash Padukon Academy, where he worked on his game for around 3 years.
He married his fellow player ‘Saina Nehwal’ India’s one of the best badminton player. Currently he is coaching his wife and looking forward to being a full time coach once he hangs his racket.
However, after losing in the quaterfinals at London 2012, kashyap hopes for an olympic medal were once again shattered at Rio 2016 after he had to go under knife for knee surgery ahead of the event and was not able to participate. Despite all the stuggles with injuries during his career, it is thanks to his willpower that kashyap has always made a strong comeback.
